How would I know if I am under the spell or under black magic and also how to find it by oneself?

You’re going to want to do a bit of divination. The basic idea is simple. Set up a situation in which a random event gets guided into a small number of possible responses. Then you have to believe it works. If you already believe in black magic then it’s not a big stretch to believe in divination.

Here’s an example of a kind of divination, dowsing. There are plenty of other kinds, just look up any method. What actual physical means you use to get input from the divine doesn’t make half the difference that belief does. You could even use the dowsing method above and put a bunch of big paper letters on the ground and walk around with your rods like a huge Ouija board. The difference is that it’s not as practical, not that it won’t work.

With black magic you’re going to want to know a few things. The source, the strength, and how to get rid of it. The first two are relatively easy to divine, as they have ‘hard’ answers. But the answer to the last one isn’t really all that much harder. You just make guesses until you get a yes answer from your method. You might ask if some penance is required, or which deity to appeal to, perhaps a book to read. Let Spirit guide you to a resolution and remember that deities are bigger than we are.

I have performed well over 10,000 divinations in my lifetime, the vast majority of them within the space of a few years. They’ve never let me down. Getting input from the divine is just part and parcel of a spiritual journey.

Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do divination alone. You can. A lot of the methods you find are geared towards two or more people. Involving more people makes the belief aspect easier. Here’s a method for using a Ouija board alone. All of the ceremony involved has one effect, to make you believe in it more.

There are conscious and unconscious aspects to belief. The ceremonies, along with having other people there, are there to help with the unconscious aspects of belief. But involving others also has the effect of combining your personal spiritual natures together to produce an experience that will inform both of your journeys.
