The Dalai Lama is a reincarnation of the Dalai Lama. It does Buddhism a great disservice if you simply conflate it with Christianity. Tibetan Buddhism has a history that dates back over a thousand years. It’s just kind of silly to think that Jesus, after doing his business in Israel, decided to leave the Christians in the 7th century and wander over to Tibet. Did Jesus just think his work in Europe was done?

Jesus promised to be with the Christians forever. That Peter would build a church upon that rock, with Jesus as the ultimate sovereign head, do you think He’d just get bored and go make another religion?

No, it’s best to think of Buddhism and Christianity as sibling religions, the two mass religions of their time which managed to get it right, when everyone else was just getting it wrong. Don’t try to say that one is the other, that misses the point entirely.

No, the two religions are the opposite sides of the same coin.
