Best thing to say here is “You look great!” If you guys are close then you can be more specific. Still consider “you look great!” especially if you don’t have a good track record on compliments. It hits the sweet spot of being positive, short, and as flirty as she wants to take it.

If she asks for details then you need to give an appropriate response. Good rule of thumb is to compliment things she can control, like her hairstyle, and not on things she can’t, like her butt.

If you see something she’s wearing that’s distinctive or out of place, that’s a great target for compliments. “I LOVE that barrette you’re wearing, where did you find it?”
