A2A, I have never believed in Jesus, I’ve never been able to put my spirituality into the form that Christianity demands. My spirituality is very malleable, and so whenever I meet very spiritual or religious people they are often very struck by it. When they start talking about their belief, I pick up on the little nuances of how they think and help push their minds into places they’d never thought about before.
My spirituality mostly revolves around a “God energy,” using the self to direct it. I consider myself Christian by values and culture, but not by belief. I take an evolutionary view of religion and see myself and other atheists as branching off the same Christian trunk, like how birds branched off the dinosaurs millions of years ago. Birds are dinosaurs and most atheists are Christian.
