If the afterlife turned out to be boring, would you prefer to cease to exist entirely at death or spend an eternity in boredom?

I can’t get bored. Well, it’s not that I can’t get bored. I can. It’s just that the feeling of being bored is interesting all on its own.

I spent a night in jail recently. The cell was too warm, I usually sleep at 70 degrees. I didn’t have a nice pillow, I had to fold down the ‘mattress’ they gave me. There was too much light. I didn’t have my phone to distract me. All things that bother me enough at home to change my entire environment to accommodate. It was hell.

For about… half an hour. My body adjusted to the temp. I found a way to cover my eyes. I was able to find a way to make the ‘pillow’ not interminally suck. After an hour, I was happily in trance, off in la la land. In trance at night, I’m both aware and asleep at the same time.

Boredom, and hell, issue from your own mind. Your greater environment doesn’t have a whole lot to do with it. Your environment provokes you in a certain way, but your mind doesn’t have to hold on to that feeling. You can adjust, and the mind can provide novelty all on its own.
