How do I overcome a pathological rejection of authority?

Throw yourself into the mouth of the beast. When I was 19, I joined the military, specifically the Air Force. The military is an authority that knows how to deal with people that reject it. I hated it, but after awhile I learned not to fear it.

You might try to get a highly hierarchical job like in a corporate setting. Learn how to play the game and you might eventually become the one calling the shots, rather than the one taking the shots.
