If God is male or has no gender, but we are made in his image, then why must there be women? Why were we not multiplied in an asexual way?

God did not decide how we evolved, evolution did. Sexual dimorphism is much older than mammals, it’s in a great variety of animals and plants. Sexual reproduction, where sexes come from, is as old as single-celled eukaryotes. That it evolved at all means there’s a genetic advantage there, that it evolved so quickly means that the advantage is incredibly compelling.

Scientists are still trying to discern exactly what it is about sexual reproduction that makes it so useful to organisms. It probably has something to do with the nature of DNA, it’s probably a very math-heavy explanation. But if God didn’t want things to have sex, he wouldn’t have made a world in which sex was so advantageous.

It’s possible God didn’t have a choice. If the explanation really does revolve around the math of DNA, which is very probable, then that means that in any universe with physical laws, any life form that organizes its information with a form of DNA also has sex, and so also will have a majority of organisms exhibit sexual dimorphism.
