What advice could you give to a 23 year old, jobless (has a degree), soon-to-be-broke, single, confused-about-future guy about life?

Move. Pack everything up into your car and drive to the nearest, biggest city. Sleep in your car the first night. Spend some time in bars and make friends with anyone, ask if you can crash on their couch. Immediately look for a job, spend all day beating the streets. Once you find a job, find a room to rent, either through your bar friends or on Craigslist.

After you find a job and a room, look for a better job, one that makes the most of your degree. Don’t be picky, let fate decide what your next career looks like.

When I was your age, I did that exact thing. It was a lot less work and a lot more fun than I thought it would have been.

You’re never going to have a better opportunity for a do-over.
