One of my close/best friends is always ditching us for her boyfriend. Is that normal?

People who aren’t yet ready for real relationships always think of their boy / girl friends as just another one of their friends, only this one they can have sex with. But once true closeness starts to happen between you two, everything other than the relationship just seems less real.

Married people never expect their friendships with other married folks to come before their marriage. “Sorry, my kid started band practice, I need to stop coming to Tuesday poker for the school year” is perfectly acceptable. Family comes first.
