What are some ways to get over my ex boyfriend?

I am your boyfriend. Well, not your literal boyfriend, but I’m a guy whose lost the ability to be nice and tender like I was before. My lady feels the difference between us and seems to think it’s a phase that will pass. I got too close to her and got burned really badly when I found out she didn’t feel the same way. She still cares for me and wants our old relationship back, but I just don’t have it in me anymore.

Look, you have a part to play in this, you need to realize what it was before it’s too late. Part of what’s got me on the defensive is the fact that I just can’t communicate my issues to her, she’s not interested in hearing them. All there is to do between us has been done, at this point my only way forward is to create emotional distance so I can disengage and find someone new.

Make no mistake, the reason he wants to break up probably has almost nothing to do with the fact that he’s busy. He’s dissatisfied in what you offer him and wants more. In my case it’s commitment. You have to discover what it is about you he’s pulling away from and decide whether it’s worth fighting for. Sad to say, it might be something as ugly and stupid as that he doesn’t feel physical attraction for you anymore. If that’s the case, you’d best move on.
