Will a man call a woman that he finds attractive, provided she gave him her number without him asking for it?

A2A, I get unasked for numbers out of just about any woman I have more than a surface conversation with. They’re all unasked for because I never ask for them anymore.

The problem I’ve learned is that continuing a friendship is ten times more difficult than making the friendship in the first place. Women tend to be pretty passive, so you have to put all the work in. In practice I usually just spend all my time interacting with the 2–3 close friends that don’t feel like work.

If I’m super-attracted then I’ll put a reasonable effort in, otherwise I’ll make a token effort only. Token effort means I’ll call exactly once. If I don’t get a call back, I delete the number. Reasonable is two or three calls over the course of a week. After the week I give up.
