Can a speech-impaired person become a successful software developer?

I don’t see why not. You’re being paid to code, not get up on a stage and make speeches. You’ll probably run into employers that just don’t want to take a chance on anybody ‘weird’, if you want a job there you’ll have to present yourself as really really normal.

Just work on your professionalism and you should be fine. It doesn’t have to be an issue if you don’t make it one.
