How do I become a coder if I find coding boring?

Same way you do any job you hate, just put your head down and do it. When I was in boot camp, I just looked forward to chow time and did my best to keep my head down and do the work expected of me.

I’m not going to judge you for not being a real coder or not appreciating the One True Beauty of programming, because I know what it’s like to need a paycheck or a direction or whatever and having the only really viable path forward not being appealing or enjoyable.

Software development is still a field you can get into that can earn you a professional lifestyle with a commensurate paycheck while not being particularly strenuous.

I think you should go to a code school. A structured learning environment is practically necessary if you don’t have the motivation to follow through with a self-study plan.
