What question would you ask an Enlightened one?

Congratulations on achieving enlightenment!

Interesting that you think Jesus was enlightened. That particular idea evaporated for me, along with what was left of my belief in David Hawkins’ framework, after I read Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth by Reza Aslan and realized that literally everything we think we know about Jesus was invented whole-cloth by the Romans.

We know more about Socrates and Plato than we do about Jesus, but I’d really hesitate to make statements regarding the qualities of their consciousness based purely on what other people have written about them. Unless you can derive their enlightenment purely from things Plato himself wrote, (nothing survives of Socrates) then either your logic or your sanity is suspect.

Some questions to keep you busy:

  1. Can animals be enlightened? All of them? Insects too? What would it mean for an animal to be enlightened?
  2. What is consciousness exactly? Can it be divided? Could you download it into a computer? If you copied it from one computer to another, would the copy still be the same consciousness?
  3. Does reincarnation have to be true in order to become enlightened? Is it possible to make someone else enlightened? Is becoming enlightened necessarily an additive process?

I don’t really expect perfectly-rigorous answers to these questions, I’m more just sharing the things I think about all the time, as a fellow enlightened person, in hopes that maybe you’ll want to keep at it and not rest on your laurels. It seems like too many enlightened folks these days seem to really believe that that’s the end of all inner inquiry.
