Is being entirely present enlightenment?

It can be defined that way, but anyone with serious experience with the subject matter can see the cracks in that definition. What exactly is “being present”? How does one go from being somewhat present to more present in a reliable way. It’s like saying you’re going to be more and more ‘good’. At some point you’re going to run into the fact that ‘goodness’ is subjectively defined.

What is the ‘present moment’ and how do I be ‘entirely’ there? I can generate immense amounts of energy through concentration. I can focus and direct this energy towards sometimes-useful outcomes. Does ‘entirely present’ mean these outcomes are always perfect?

In my experience, human perception will always be limited, there is nothing about enlightenment that removes the limits of perception. There is only one thing whose perception is unlimited, God. I have yet to read a single account of an enlightened person that has unlimited perception.

I can obtain insight into how limited beings access the realm of unlimited connection. But it’s not unlimited access. I can call upon the realm of unlimited connection to obtain answers to questions, any question I think to ask. But this isn’t unlimited access, it’s moderated by my own ability to understand the answers I get.

Generally speaking, the speed at which one can ask and answer questions is referred to as level of consciousness. Also “intuition.” One thing I’ve noticed about intuition is that when you’re diving into questions, you’re escaping the present moment and journeying into another realm where the answer can be found. This journey can happen very quickly, but it takes attention away from the present moment.

Are you “entirely present” when you are using intuition? I’d say probably not. But enlightened people pretty much categorically have better intuition than everyone else.

The way I’ve found out is to define enlightenment is a certain level of consciousness, and consciousness can manifest any way the being who possesses it wants it to manifest. Successive levels of consciousness ‘packs’ more and more ability to create joy and love or whatever the person wants to explore in life.

The real gauge of how conscious someone is is not how good or loving they are, but rather how difficult the things they’re challenging themselves with and how effective they are in overcoming the obstacles they’ve made for themselves. There isn’t any universal hill we all have to climb and existence is truly endless. Any hierarchy is just general and prescriptive. Some things are difficult, and so require more consciousness to actually accomplish. But some things can require more consciousness to really do well.

Enlightenment is really just a description of certain personality traits. It makes you think in certain ways that you feel are particularly challenging. Other people have harder hurdles to overcome.
