How do I become a professional developer?

You want two careers? Or do you just want to wear two hats?

A career overtakes your life. You can’t really have two at once. What are you going to do, go work 8 hours at your pro web dev job, and then after you knock off there, go work 8 more at your pro electrical engineering job?

Doesn’t really work that way.

You might be able to wear two hats at one job though. The way I see this happening is you join a small organization that needs an electrical engineer but also has web work that needs to get done too. You could be a great find for such a company.

If you’re just asking how to make extra money while you’re at school, I’d say to try waiting tables.
