You’re going to want to go to code school. Before code schools became a thing I would have told you no. Programming is really hard, I’ve been doing it my whole life. Code schools will help you get the initial skills you need, but you’re still going to need to do a lot of self-study, and you’re going to need to get a company to take a chance on you.

You can go the big company route, big companies have huge budgets and will happily take a chance on you if you’re willing to put up with low pay. I was a testing engineer at Panasonic when I was trying to break in, it was a nice stepping stone.

Or you can go to work for a smaller company, where your business skills might be more valuable than your nascent software skills. My old roommate is a project manager and is learning to code. His learning really helps him do his job better because in his sector of the market, a lot of the devs don’t really know what they’re doing.

Good luck!
