How do I know if a guy really likes me or just wants to have some fun with me?

What do you want to happen here? Relationships don’t just happen. They are created by the actions and understandings and desires of both people involved. You’re trying to make a decision here about whether to respond to his advances and you want to have some kind of assurance that it’s going to go the way you want it to go.

Well, if you want to be assured that he’s going to be a respectful, romantic boyfriend, then you need to set boundaries and communicate them. If you want people to communicate with you in a certain way, you need to tell them to, particularly when they don’t.

Some guys are capable of taking direction, some aren’t. If he consistently acts contrary to your stated wishes, then he’s a bad boyfriend and you should get rid of him. But you can’t really know until you actually set some boundaries and see whether he respects them.
