How do I build self love?

One interesting way is affirmations. My girlfriend will get up in the morning, look at herself in the mirror, and tell herself how beautiful and wonderful she is.

The interesting thing about self-esteem is it always seems to center on something outside of ourselves. For example we might attach our self-esteems to whether other guys / girls are attracted enough to them to approach.

I’d work to notice this aspect in yourself and to work to redefine yourself according to things that you are more in control of.
