It’s normal, but misleading. Relationships take more and more work to keep on track the longer they last. People have the natural tendency to grow in ways that don’t necessarily accommodate the other person. It’s easy to let things go and wake up years later and suddenly realize that you don’t want to be in the relationship anymore.
There’s no way to fix these issues other than work to fix yourself and the relationship. If you’re really smart and really wise, then you can see the issues develop and work on them before they become a problem. If you’re merely smart, then you can fix them once they turn into problems. If you’re neither, then you’re completely reliant on other people to help troubleshoot and fix issues long after they’ve already broken the relationship.
Enjoy the new relationship high while it lasts. It’ll start getting hard soon enough.
