Can I ask out a girl I never met?

Yes but it’s difficult. If you have any way at all to get to know her before you ask her out, then it behooves you to do that before you start taking giant leaps.

When you ask someone out you barely know, you’re putting an awful lot of decision weight on her. Are you going to be crazy? Are you going to be needy? Are you going to be trustworthy?

All this weight falls onto the ‘no’ side of the equation and unless she has a really good gut feeling about you, she’s probably going to say no.
