If Wix and other similar platforms doesn’t meet your needs, the learning curve is steep before you can get adequately productive in WordPress.
The middle of the website creation market has been hollowing out for years as the field gets ever more complex. Used to be you could hire an affordable technician to help you out, now anybody that could help you out has a full time job and you can’t get them on the phone.
I’d say we’re at least another 5 years out from an acceptable in-between solution between modern drag-and-drop WYSIWYG web editors and a platform like WordPress.
