Why is low self-esteem considered so unattractive? What's wrong with having low self-esteem? It doesn't affect my confidence, way of communicating or actions. It's simply evident in some of my phrases.

So, you say that it doesn’t affect your confidence, way of communication, or your actions, but other people see it differently. You’re saying it because you don’t know any other way of being. Other people with the benefit of hindsight and experience can see the things you don’t see.

Self-esteem is one of those parts of life that turn into feedback loops, and it’s important to make sure what’s coming out and going back into the loop is positive so that you can go on an upward spiral rather than a downward one.

Also, so much of life revolves around perception. I feel exactly the same when I put on a suit and some nice shoes, as I do when I wear jeans, sneakers, and a t-shirt. But people see me differently. They attribute things to me purely based on those perceptions.

I take walks around the block, occasionally I’ll run into this homeless guy. When I walk, I’m usually deep in thought about something or some other. The first few times I was in slacks and a polo shirt, and he thought I was depressed about something.

One time I did the exact same walk the exact same way, only with brand new leather oxford shoes, a dress coat, and a scarf. He remarked that it looked like all that “depression” was totally gone. I just laughed.
