Did you ever receive notifications for BNBR violations on Quora?

I got one. Someone asked a dating question that clearly wasn’t from an American perspective. But I saw a bunch of answers judging the question by American standards. I tried to highlight this in a respectful way, but got dinged anyway. I just deleted my answer and moved on with my life.

I think the policy is, like most policies, not used in the spirit of how it was devised. People mistake their personal or political beliefs for universal moral truths and so they’ll call other people disrespectful or even mean for daring to question that universality, while letting real violations go unpunished. I hope moderation gets an overhaul in the future, it’s not too bad now, but it’s bad enough to drive some people away. It will get worse if it’s not addressed.
