I never offend any of my friends, and none of my friends offend me. This is because I’m an adult and adults spend time with other adults. Adults know not to press other people’s buttons unnecessarily and work on not having buttons for other people to push.
If I were to offend someone I would work to understand what I did and why I did it and figure out if I did anything wrong. I don’t have to do this all by myself, I have my friends to help me.
If someone else were to offend me I would get away from the offensive person as quickly as possible and then again work to understand why I got offended and why. Again, I would tap my friends for help.
If someone is throwing around emotionally charged words like ‘offensive’ willy-nilly, then I would consider them and deal with them as children, no matter how old they might be. They might trigger my paternal instincts if they’re being cute or I might just roll my eyes and walk away if they’re not.
