I'm an atheist, but I like praying, it gives me peace. Is that ok?

You can’t be an atheist and pray. You can be an atheist and meditate. The two are exactly the same activity, only one focuses on a personal God, and the other is completely inwardly directed. So just call your prayer meditation and you’re golden.
