Can men and women be friends?

It’s hard for me to be friends with a girl that I don’t find attractive. Attraction makes me want to talk to them, interact with them, do things for them. If they are not attractive then we have to actually find common interests. This is rare because my interests are rarely of the sort that most women are into. Also, the way I like to be social is to sit, talk, and sometimes drink. This is greatly helped by physical attraction.

Also, just finding a girl attractive does not generally make me want to date her, or even sleep with her. I need many other things to go right before I’ll want to ask her out, or make a move on her.
