Is it cruel to break up with a guy by telling him that you are not sexually attracted to him?

It’s impossible for me to pass judgment on how girls break up with guys because there’s really no ‘safe’ way to do it, and you never know how a guy is going to take it. Personally, if you’re not attracted to me, I have no problems being told that. I’d much rather get a flat-out rejection than what usually happens, me getting the runaround until I can work out that she’s not interested.

Other guys, I’ve seen them get really mad over this sort of thing. Nobody likes being called a whore or a slut or a user just because they gave an undeserving guy a chance. But that’s what they do.

I’d say tell him if you can work out why you’re not attracted to him sexually. I got the runaround from this one girl and I didn’t really understand why until I looked at who she normally dates. Old, fat, balding Middle Eastern guys who abuse her emotionally. I guess I can’t compete with that. If I recall correctly her father was like that too. She’s now off in Kenya or somewhere doing volunteer work or whatever so I guess I dodged a bullet. Point is though, she was never going to be able to tell me why she wasn’t attracted to me because she herself didn’t know why.

If you’re not attracted to a nice, smart, good-looking guy, the person you may want to level with is yourself.
