Think about the word transcension for a second. What does it sound like? Ascension. Ascension is commonly used to refer to the “going up to heaven” event. When you ascend, you leave the world behind. The root of the word ‘transcend’, trans-, means to ‘across’, so transcend means to “move across.
Transcending is moving up to heaven, while not leaving the world. You’re still here. How does this work? Ever hear the phrase, “Hell is other people”? One can easily imagine hell on Earth. Well, transcension is finding heaven on Earth.
Spiritual seekers will often renounce the world. They’ve neither transcended nor ascended, instead they retreat and walk their path, not trying to teach anyone or act politically.
Someone who transcends while embracing does not retreat from the world but still manages to find Heaven here. They will accomplish things, build things. And have a lot of fun doing it.
