How can you tell if a girl is using a boy for money?

If she shows no real affection for him at all then she's using him. Girls use boys for more than just money, affection is how you figure it out. When you say nice, lovely things to her, does she blow it off? She's probably not into you. Don't test her on purpose, just try to get a feel for how much she has invested emotionally. If there's very few emotions, she's probably not into you.

Using implies an ulterior motive. Most girls don't have it in them to maintain one of these, and most guys don't have enough to make it worthwhile. Girls will hang out with guys they're not interested in and let them buy stuff for them, but you would too if it happened to you.

Don't be too generous with girls you don't know very well. Unless you can piss away money happily. Cultivate the ability to say no. Your pocketbook will thank you and your lady friends will respect you more.
