What do I tell her if she thinks she's too young too make a commitment?

If she thinks she’s not ready for a committed relationship then she’s right. The very fact that she thinks that means she’s not ready. Has nothing to do with her age.

You should take her advice and not get your hopes up. I know that’s not what you want to hear, but commitment is hard enough to keep when you’re thirty and you’re finally figuring out what you want out of your life partner. Ten times harder when you’re 19 and just haven’t dated enough people to have any real idea.

There’s a certain kind of couple that gets married out of high school. You guys are not that couple. You should give her the space she wants and allow her to see other people. And do the same yourself.
