Is it really possible to fall for someone you haven't even met just through chatting/texting?

You can form an emotional attachment to a rock, by imagining it has qualities it doesn’t have. The human brain is really really good at anthropomorphizing things and imagining things that aren’t there.

Does it mean you know the actual person that you fell for? No, it just means you have a reason now to get to know them. In the process you’ll see where you were wrong and where you were right about that person. Your infatuation may not survive but you’ll be wiser for it.

Really though, your best bet is to find someone close that you can spend real time together in close physical proximity. Nothing else compares to that.
