Why do I deserve to be alone?

I get lonely a lot. I’m introverted and I’m very picky about who I choose to spend time with. The people I want as friends are all busy themselves. I’ve got a girl I’m dating but it seems like a one-sided relationship more often than not. I’ve got a great career and I make a lot of money but I’d trade all of that for more social satisfaction. Unfortunately my brain seems wired for work and not for friendship.

If you’re old enough to drink, I’d say you should find a bar to frequent. Expanding your social circle can’t hurt. Also place fewer expectations on people. Even if you could never have a relationship with someone doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. The dirty little secret of adulthood is that nobody ever really grows up. You slowly get more mature over the years but you’re never really done.
