Is it possible to not be vulnerable when rejected by a girl?

You make yourself vulnerable when you ask a girl out, not when she rejects you or not. That's not something you'd ever really want to change, it's part of what makes us human. Unwillingness to be vulnerable leads to doing creepy things to get female attention rather than just doing the honest thing.
