The fact that you’re asking this question means you should get out there and start working.
Completing a PhD isn’t a sane, rational thing to do. You spend a lot of your precious time and effort making a tiny little dent in human knowledge. Your career may or may not get a boost out of it. You can make bigger dents in human knowledge without doing a PhD, and get paid a lot more for it.
I’m not saying nobody should ever do one, but if all it boils down to is “which am I better off doing,” then go get a job. Some career fields demand a PhD, my psychologist friend has one because you have to in order to get a license to practice.
