I write my girlfriend long messages, and she only reply with short replies. What is wrong?

Text is the wrong forum for the kind of communication you want to do. If you really want to knock her socks off, write her a letter. On nice paper. With a pen.

Spend some time on it. Communicate concisely. Don’t be redundant.

You can ante up on the romance by sending it with flowers or chocolates. But lots of small letters are better than the occasional huge gesture.

I wouldn’t expect much of a response. The payoff is that the longer you do it, the more solid and dependable your relationship with her will be and you’ll fall deeper and deeper in love with each other over time.

Maybe one day she’ll find a way to reciprocate in a more satisfying way. If and when she does, though, it’ll probably come out of the blue. That’s just the way romance works.
