My friend spilled tea on my laptop. Should I make him pay for it?

No. You should be more careful with your laptop. If someone else damaged my laptop, doesn't matter how it happened, I would consider it to be my fault. I bring my laptop to the bar and down to the pool.

See those chairs inside the pool? I'll use my laptop sitting on one of those chairs. No case because i hate cases. Even if there are other people in the pool. I just close the laptop if it starts looking dangerous. MacBooks are practically impossible to get water inside with the lid shut. I know, I tried.

I've lost two laptops over the last 10 years to liquid damage. Both times it was my own fault. But it wouldn't have mattered to me if it were someone else that spilled on it. I live dangerously, and you can't blame others if you get hurt while you're running with scissors.

People who don't live as dangerously as me lose way more devices than I do. It's because they never really learn how to be careful.
