Taking into account the information in your reply to my comment, I would try to meet for lunch first if possible before jumping straight to after work. Lunch dates are easy, non-committal affairs, post-work drinks or dinner takes more coordination and plans are way more likely to fall apart, often for reasons that have nothing to do with either of you, but if it happens more than a few times can seem like a bad omen.
